About Catherine
I'm a native British English speaker and CELTA-qualified English teacher.
I lived in France for 20 years, where I taught English to French children, teenagers and adults of different levels and abilities.
During my time in France, I also learnt French myself, so I know what it's like to be on the other side of the classroom! This experience has helped me understand the difficulties language learners face and the importance of patience, encouragement and building confidence.
I enjoy meeting people, getting to know their interests and helping them make progress in a relaxed and supportive environment.
I am now based near Exeter in Devon and offer one-to-one English lessons online.

Would you like to feel more confident speaking English, improve your conversation skills or simply have the opportunity to practise regularly with a native English speaker?
I offer friendly, relaxed and personalised English lessons tailored to your level, interests and goals.
Whether you're looking to improve your conversational English, pronunciation, vocabulary or grammar, my aim is to make learning enjoyable and help you feel more comfortable using English in everyday situations.
Having learnt French myself, I understand how challenging it can be to learn another language, particularly when it comes to speaking confidently!
My lessons are mainly conducted in English, but I also speak conversational French, which can be helpful for French-speaking students.
Lessons are available online, so you can learn from wherever you are.
