About Irene

I have been giving private lessons for about 8 years. I followed students aged 10 and up, up to adult students. I taught as a private tutor in Italy and as a teacher for a private school in Moscow (BKC-International House) where I taught English and Italian to children and adults of all levels.

About the lesson

My name is Irene Talpo, I'm 29 and I'm from Venice. I have experience as a teacher of English and Italian for about 5 years: in February 2016 I obtained the CELTA certification at the Language Link school in London who taught me the method of communicative teaching, which puts oral practice first. shoulders the obsolete method of translation and simple grammar exercises. I have experience in teaching Italian and English to students of different age groups and levels (from 3-year-olds to adults, from beginner level to advanced). My first teaching experience at Vilela State School (PT) gave me the opportunity to start working with young students of different ages and levels and to assist experienced English teachers in their daily lessons. Later, I decided to start working as an Italian and English teacher for the BKC-international school in Moscow, where I worked for one year teaching Russian students of all ages and levels (from 3 years old children to adults, beginners to advanced students) and attending seminars and workshops offered by International House as part of the professional development of their teachers. I have had positive feedback from all the students I have worked with and I have received excellent references from BKC-IH, both for my method of communicative teaching and for my clear and effective explanations of grammatical topics, which have earned me the confidence not only for students, but also for more experienced colleagues. I believe that a good teacher should be able to adapt his style of teaching based not only on the age or level of the student, but also on his individual needs, his personality, his strengths and weaknesses. I have always been able to establish excellent relationships with my students thanks to my positive attitude and my dynamic lessons. My lessons always consistently include grammar, conversation, listening and writing, as well as reading authentic texts that can be engaging and interesting to students, based on their interests and preferences. I always keep in mind that learning a language should also be fun, so games aimed at learning the language are always part of my lessons, to end the lesson with a smile :)
