I am a private cello and music theory tutor. I am educated to Master's level and have lived and worked in London for 4 years, throughout which time I have worked at the UK's largest music exam board, ABRSM. I have played the cello for over 20 years and have a basic DBS.

My teaching method focuses primarily on achieving well-rounded musicianship with my students. This starts by securely building the fundamentals of music, such as instrumental technique, theory and sight-reading. Students tend to lose interest if teachers too heavily labour the 'boring' aspects such as scales, and therefore I incorporate these alongside the main event - the pieces. I am comfortable teaching complete beginners, higher grade students, adult learners, and students who want to revisit learning music after a break of several years.
