Super tutor

Adam is one of the best tutors in Logic. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Adam

I'm a Computer Science graduate of the University of Oxford, and I have been tutoring for over 9 years. I have coached 70+ Canadian students for the Canadian Computing Competition. 6 of them won full scholarships to the University of Waterloo and 3 won partial scholarships to the University of Toronto. Many started with me having never written a line of code. I also coach USACO (120+ American students) and teach AP Computer Science A (almost 400 American students, over 91% scoring a 5).

About the lesson

These lessons are for students who want a CCC result strong enough to count toward admission and scholarships. Beginners start with programming fundamentals in Java or Python, then move on to Junior problems. Senior students train in C++. We work on past CCC papers, starting with the early problems and building toward the later ones that separate the top scores. At one lesson a week, the course takes about a year. At two a week, about six months. Message me with your grade and your programming experience, and I'll tell you where to start.

Perfect! Adam has been an awesome tutor for competitive programming. He has a clear plan for the whole year, so every session builds toward something and I always know where I'm headed. Sessions are tight and focused, with a clear goal each time, so I get a lot out of every hour. Instead of just lecturing, he asks me questions and lets me work through the logic myself, which makes it click way better than just being told the answer. He oftem asks me to do timed practice like a real contest, which makes it fun and gets me ready for the actual competitions. I've learned a ton from him.

Adam's response
Usually the problem which most students face in geometry is that they lack creativity. Cormac's ability to imagine constructs in his head is quite impressive, especially for someone of his age. In fact, he solved one of the questions by coming up with an imaginary construct that was quite simpler and more efficient than the one I used. Unfortunately, in school he had been pushed to just memorise rules and apply. He has the potential to join local competitions within 2 years if he joins a school that prioritises creative thinking over the classical analytical approach.

I’ve known Adam for about 8 years, and over that time I’ve had the chance to see not only what an amazing friend he is, but also how naturally he teaches and supports others. We’ve volunteered together, and I was always impressed by how patient, organized, and encouraging he was, especially when working with children. He has a way of making people feel comfortable and confident while learning.

One of the things I appreciate most about Adam is his teaching style. He’s incredibly patient, explains things clearly, and never makes anyone feel judged for asking questions. He’s punctual, goal-oriented, and leads by example, which makes it easy to trust and learn from him. He genuinely cares about helping others succeed and always takes the time to adapt to each person’s needs.

During our volunteering experience together, I saw firsthand how kind, dependable, and approachable he is. Whether he was helping children learn something new or supporting the rest of the team, he always brought positive energy and professionalism. His leadership qualities stood out because he was always willing to step up, help others, and make sure everyone felt included.

I wholeheartedly recommend Adam as a tutor. He’s knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to helping his students reach their full potential. Anyone learning with him will be in excellent hands.

I had the opportunity to cross paths with Adam over 5 years ago. I learned to know him as a hard working, intelligent and punctual professional. Adam takes his work very seriously and doesn’t settle for “okey”. He strives to achieve the best in his work life, which also extends to other aspects of who he is. Adam has an excellent skill in breaking down complex concepts into smaller understandable units. Teaching comes natural to him for all ages. I recommended Adam as a teacher and as a professional.
