Algebra is the basic branch of mathematics that deals with the study of mathematical symbols and the rules for manipulating those symbols to solve equations and problems. Algebra classes teach about variables, equations, functions, and graphs and how to use them to solve problems in a variety of fields, including science, engineering, and economics.
Algebra classes usually begin with an introduction to basic algebra concepts, including variables, constants, and coefficients.
