About Kristóf

Hello there! My name is Kristof, and I work as an Applied Mathematician in the specialized field of quantitative finance.
Inspired by the remarkable maths teachers I was fortunate to have growing up, I'm excited to give you the same life-changing educational experience that ignited my own passion for maths.

My Philosophy on Teaching
Tailored to You: Just like a bespoke suit, education should fit you perfectly. That's why I offer highly personalized teaching methods that adapt to your individual learning style and academic goals.

Discover, Don't Memorize: Maths is a treasure hunt, not a memory game. My teaching approach focuses on helping you understand the principles underlying mathematical concepts, enabling you to explore and solve problems creatively.

Why Choose Me?
Expertise in Action: By applying advanced mathematical models in the fast-paced world of finance, I can offer you a learning experience that blends theoretical knowledge with practical real-world applications.

Experienced Educator: My background in tutoring includes preparing students for Maths Olympiads, where complex problems require innovative solutions. This depth of experience equips me to make even the most challenging topics accessible.

Professional Commitment: You can count on me for punctuality, structured lessons, and clear, responsive communication—all essential aspects of a successful tutoring relationship.

A Bit More About Me
When I'm not delving into equations or financial models, I indulge in extreme sports. Just like in maths, these activities require a balance of skill, strategy, and a touch of daring—qualities I aim to inspire in my students as well.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
My approach to teaching mathematics is a blend of traditional techniques and contemporary insights, aimed at making the subject both understandable and enjoyable:

Diagnostic Assessment:
The first session includes a diagnostic test to gauge your current skill level, which helps in tailoring the curriculum to meet your needs.

Conceptual Clarity:
A strong emphasis is placed on understanding the underlying mathematical principles, rather than rote memorization.

Interactive Learning:
I use a variety of teaching aids including visual demonstrations and interactive software to explain complex mathematical concepts.

Practice & Problem-Solving:
Weekly homework assignments and periodic tests are designed to reinforce what you’ve learned and identify areas for improvement.

Exam Strategy:
Special sessions on effective exam techniques to ensure you're fully prepared for the big day.

Typical Length of a Lesson:
Each lesson typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours, giving us ample time to cover new material while reinforcing previously learned concepts through practice and revision.

Qualifications & Experience
I hold both a BA and MA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. My experience extends to coaching students in Maths Olympiad preparation camps, providing a strong foundation in advanced mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.

Who Are My Lessons For?
I offer tutoring to students of all levels, specifically those aged between 14 and 18. Whether you’re looking to improve your GCSE scores or excel in your A-Level examinations, my tailored approach will help you achieve your academic goals.
