About Madelyn
"Chess began to make sense to me only once I stopped rushing and focused on the hidden logic behind the moves. That same patience guides the 405 students I have mentored throughout my career. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics from the University of Warwick. My teaching centres on board vision, attacking play, and complex pawn structures.
I work frequently with competitive club players who desire a more disciplined approach to their games. Mastering time management and defensive technique requires this level of analytical rigour. It is satisfying to see students gain confidence as they sharpen their competitive mindset."

"Intermediate players often struggle to bridge the gap between knowing tactical patterns and applying them under pressure in a real game. My lessons provide a disciplined framework to ensure you understand the underlying concepts rather than relying on memorisation. Drawing on my background in Pure Mathematics, I treat every match as a logical puzzle that we must deconstruct together.
We will engage in thorough game analysis of your own matches to identify recurring weaknesses in your opening repertoire building. Because I have coached 405 students over 7 years, I can quickly pinpoint the specific technical errors limiting your progress. We systematically review your defensive technique to ensure you maintain composure during critical moments.
Each session focuses on creating a sustainable process for improvement that you can apply immediately to your next tournament. Expect to spend time refining your endgame technique to secure wins from drawn positions. You will leave the session with a clearer understanding of your strategic path."
