About Summah

As a young and enthusiastic teacher, I connect easily with students and understand the challenges they face both academically and socially. I aim to make learning engaging, relevant, and enjoyable while maintaining high expectations and clear structure. Building positive relationships is at the heart of my teaching, as students learn best when they feel comfortable, understood, and supported.

About the lesson

As a full-time primary school teacher, I bring current classroom experience, curriculum knowledge, and a calm, supportive teaching style to every lesson. I understand how students learn best and how to build both skills and confidence.

My approach is structured but flexible. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths, gaps, and learning goals. From there, I tailor lessons to suit their needs, whether that means revisiting foundational concepts, extending high-achieving students, or preparing for upcoming assessments. I use clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and gradual release to help students move towards independence. I also incorporate questioning techniques and problem-solving strategies to develop deeper understanding rather than rote learning.

For mathematics, I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and helping students understand the “why” behind their thinking. For primary students, I also integrate engaging, age-appropriate activities to maintain motivation and enjoyment.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, which allows time for explicit teaching, guided practice, and independent application. Shorter or longer sessions can be arranged if needed.

I currently work full-time as a primary school teacher and have experience tutoring high school students in mathematics. My classroom experience allows me to align support directly with the Australian Curriculum and current classroom expectations.

My lessons are suitable for:
• Primary school students (Prep to Year 6) – literacy and mathematics support
• High school students (Years 7–8) – mathematics tutoring
• Students needing confidence-building, extension, or targeted intervention
