About Sofia
I fell in love with Musical Theatre at 8 years old. The more I went to see a Musical, the more I thought "I want to do that one day!" so I started voice lessons. It wasn't until I left Highschool when I started my career is a Vocalist/Motivational Speaker and toured all over Australia with 4 other people in a singing band. It was amazing. After a year and a half of doing that, I travelled North America for a year, and taught ukulele in a small primary school.
Cut to 2017 when I started my degree and realised that there is more to singing than just singing. It's a vulnerable art. It's physical, it's mental, it's absolutely beautiful.
Since then, I have directed and produced 2 Musical Theatre Showcases and performed in a number of community theatre musicals around Hamilton. Been a Jazz singer at Weddings and festivals, performed with Brass Bands, Studied with Dame Malvina Major, Learnt Opera (I am not great at this haha), learned to sing Italian, French and German (again, not the best but it's fun!), worked with Broadway star, Hayden Tee in Master Classes, became a Disney Princess for a Disney Show... I love every single minute of it.

My name is Sofia, I'm 28 and have been singing all my life!
I recently graduated at the end of 2020 with a Bachelor of Music at the University of Waikato, majoring in Musical Theatre Voice. I'm passionate about performing, vocal health, and stage craft.
I hope to help you build your confidence as you start to find your voice in a safe and exciting way that is also right for you!
I've been teaching on and off since the end of 2020 but recently launched my own singing studio called Sofia's Voice Studio!
Lessons run for 30 minutes.
