About Amy

My name is Amy, and I have been working with children and youth for over 25 years. I have taught a variety of subjects, but I love teaching Spanish and ESOL the most, as well as tutoring children with reading and comprehension problems. That’s where I find my skills are most beneficial and helpful. I also teach children in my local church, play the piano, enjoy reading and cooking, and spending time with my family and friends. In addition to Spanish and English, I also speak elementary French and study German and Korean. My main job is an editor and writer.

About the lesson

-I am confident in teaching students of any level, including beginner students just starting in the basics to advanced students wishing to expand their vocabulary or perfect their pronunciation and conversational skills. -I have a wide range of experience with various Latin American accents, but I can also teach a more traditional accent from Spain, as well as the proper conjugations and verbs for a more inclusive Spanish-language education, ensuring you are understood in any country or dialect where Spanish is spoken. -I emphasize correct and proper grammar and skills, while encouraging conversational skills above everything. Too many students take years of high school Spanish but are unable to actually speak or understand any of the language at the end of their time as a student. -I work heavily with students on correct pronunciation. -In addition to teaching Spanish, I have years of experience as a teacher in other subjects, enabling me to work well with any age group or number of students.
