About Carlota
Hello!
My name is Carlota and I am from Gran Canaria but have studied and worked abroad for 10 years between London, Brighton, Leeds, Manchester and New Castle. I am 100% bilingual with a British accent.
I am currently working in Gran Canaria as a freelance English teacher at La Isleta, both face-to-face and online, but also for the NikaTeacher academy, preparing students for Cambridge Certificates at all levels, teaching business English, training to future teachers of English and teaching general English, based on communication, having been certified with Celta by the University of Cambridge.
I am enthusiastic, motivated and approachable with a wide range of interests, including languages. I have studied several Indo-European languages, both for academic and professional requirements, and as such I am familiar with both the joy and despair that studying a second language can bring.
As part of my current job with NikaTeacher Academy, I teach adults of all levels, from elementary to advanced. I make use of numerous activities and aids to engage, stimulate and motivate students.
I have taught English to a wide range of students for a variety of purposes, from those focusing on Cambridge exam preparation to students looking to develop their skills for more social reasons, business, opposition, teenagers, etc.
