About JI YEONG

Hi, I’m Ji Yeong — a native Korean speaker who spent 20 years studying and growing up in Korea before continuing my university studies in Malaysia, where I am currently majoring in Communication.
Living and studying in two different cultures has shaped the way I see language — not just as grammar and vocabulary, but as connection, emotion, and identity. Because I study communication, I naturally understand how people express themselves, how trends spread, and how media influences the way we speak.
I am also an active member of a K-pop dance club, which allows me to stay closely connected to current K-pop trends and fandom culture. I understand what K-pop fans are curious about — from iconic “killing parts” and trendy slang to the real meanings behind lyrics and interviews. I know what makes learning Korean exciting for fans, and how to turn that excitement into real language progress.
Having experienced life both in Korea and abroad, I understand what it feels like to learn and adapt to a new language. That’s why I approach teaching with empathy, patience, and genuine care.
More than just teaching Korean, I want to share the energy, culture, and modern voice of Korea in a way that feels inspiring and relatable.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Ji Yeong — a native Korean speaker who believes learning Korean should feel exciting, not intimidating.
I don’t teach Korean like a textbook. I teach it the way Koreans actually speak.
My lessons are built around real Korean from K-pop, celebrity interviews, K-drama clips, and movie scenes, so students learn expressions that are natural, trendy, and culturally relevant. At the same time, I carefully structure each lesson so students build strong fundamentals step by step.
I truly care about my students’ progress. Before starting, I check their level and goals (travel, TOPIK, K-pop understanding, daily conversation, etc.), then create a personalized learning plan. I focus on building confidence first — because speaking without fear is the key to improvement.
