About Shota
Hi! I'm Shota Yamaguchi (from Sapporo / Japan - 22 years old)
Began playing trumpet at age 6.
In 2022, received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music. Currently in my third year, majoring in jazz composition and contemporary writing and production.
Studied under Tiger Okoshi(Tp), Greg Hopkins(Tp), and Terri Lyne Carrington(Dr).
Selected to play and arrange for the Gordon goodwins Big phat band on the main stage of ITG 2024 as a starter.
I have played trumpet and arranged for many commercials, animations, and movies.
I can take you one step further musically.

Beginners will be taught the basics of the trumpet.
For intermediate and advanced students, we will help you with the music you are looking for. Any genre is fine.
※Therefore, the curriculum will vary from person to person.
-Plan-
The basics of the instrument (Practice using my routines and teaching books), how to blow ad-libs, how to blow in sections, how to blow each genre, setting up and caring for the instrument, etc..,
It also offers a study of harmony and a hands-on experience with the Berklee Method.
If desired, we can also offer composition and arrangement classes.
