About Kala
Kala offers vocal coaching from a holistic methodology, incorporating elements of theoretical knowledge, ear training, performance technique, body awareness, mindfulness, creativity, and improvisation into her coaching sessions. She specializes in guiding students along a growth path that honors their unique learning style and artistic vision, utilizing versatile teaching approach that sets the stage for long-term creative growth.
Kala has 15+ years experience teaching in academic, community, and private settings. Her professional training includes studying music performance and creation at Furman University and Hampshire College, as well as coaching from Broadway composer Craig Carnelia and Billboard Top 10 songwriters Stephen Bray and Lari White. With a classical, theatrical, and contemporary musical background, Kala explores a diverse array of musical interests and genres with her students.
