About Emma
I studied at the University of York for my undergraduate degree in History of Art and at the University of Edinburgh for my postgraduate degree in Modern and Contemporary Art: History, Curating and Criticism. I have written dissertations on 20th century performance art and 21st century bio art and technology, however I have studied and written essays on the history of art and relevant theories from the medieval era onwards.

Art history is as vast as it is deeply fascinating! I would like to base my tutoring sessions around topics you would like explore. We can discuss a text you find tricky, an artwork you want to unpick further, or an essay title that you can’t figure out how to execute. I can help to suggest artists, artworks and readings that can build and strengthen your argument as we pinpoint together, through discussion or written and visual sources, art’s influence in historical and social contexts.

Perfect! Emma is an excellent tutor! She's friendly, organised and very supportive. You can tell that she puts a lot of time and effort into her classes and tries to make the most out of each session. I would highly recommend Emma and I'm looking forward to our lessons together!
