About Sam

My passion for architecture began with an appreciation for how built environments influence behaviour, emotion, and interaction. This led me to complete a B.Arch, followed by an M.Arch in Architectural Design, where I explored creative design, spatial theory, and professional workflows. Over the past 7 years, I have supported students in developing confidence and clarity in architectural expression. I teach with patience, openness, and adaptability, ensuring students feel supported throughout the creative process. I focus on helping learners articulate ideas clearly, refine visual communication, and trust their creative instincts. Many students who begin unsure gradually develop confidence as they gain structure and direction in their design work. Beyond teaching, I stay connected to architecture through design research, sketching practice, and analysis of contemporary projects. Teaching architecture is meaningful to me because I witness students grow creatively and personally through design exploration.

About the lesson

Architecture becomes engaging when students understand how creativity is shaped through structure and design logic. In my lessons, I guide learners through spatial awareness, conceptual development, form exploration, material understanding, and visual communication. I help students learn how to transform abstract ideas into meaningful spatial designs through structured yet imaginative processes. Lesson plans are adapted to experience level. Beginners focus on sketching fundamentals, scale, proportion, and basic spatial visualisation. Intermediate learners explore conceptual development, model-making, material application, and design presentation. Advanced learners refine project organisation, architectural narratives, portfolio development, and critique skills. Each lesson includes discussion, hands-on exercises, and constructive feedback. Architecture lessons also build confidence, observation skills, and creative discipline. Students become more comfortable expressing ideas visually and explaining design intent. My goal is to help learners develop a strong creative identity while maintaining structured design habits that support long-term growth.
