About Charlie

Kingston Masters Graduate in Architecture with 7 years experience in Practice of which 2 years working for Jamie Fobert Architects and 5 years helping set up a small Design Studio in London.

I help students develop a wide range of skills in the field of design particularly professional software training and preparation of design portfolios and applications.

I can advise on digital filing systems and Backups for professionals in the wolrd of design to improve workflow and ensure a reliable working method to prevent file loss.

Over the past 7 years I helped several Interior design students successfully graduate from their course who currently work in practice. I have also tutored media and advertising professionals in the use of the Adobe suite and and consulted on concept strategies for high end design websites. I can also offer training in photo editing for bloggers and various applications as well as photography relating to Architecture and Design

I am a very patient and enthusiastic tutor, please dont hesitate to give me a call and discuss your needs.

Microsoft Office:
Tutoring all ages and levels.

CAD:
I offer tutoring in Microstation and Vectorworks in both 2D drawing and 3D modelling and Rendering; as well as setting up proper workflows within these software suites.

Adobe:
10 years experience working with the Adobe suite and I teach advance skills in Photoshop and Indesign applicable to professional practice.

General:
- Microsoft Office to all ages and levels (10 Years)
- Interior design students at Foundation and Undergraduate Level (7 Years) - Architecture Students at Foundation and Undergraduate Level (7 Years)
- Professional skills in the Adobe software suite (7 Years)
- Freehand and Technical Drawing (7 Years)

About the lesson

My ethos is patience

I base my learning on practical exercises as students find this more interesting; it allows an understanding of how their skills will be put into practice. I also avoid theoretical sit downs where information is noted down and memorized. Learning through practice is proven to be much more effective, it allows the brain to memorize the processes by actively implementing and repeating them. Students find this much more engaging consequently learning faster. It also makes the process fun and enjoyable.

Every student is different and I tailor the exercise to suite individual needs
