About DrKirk
Architectural Engineering academic, over 20 years' experience up to management & leadership in UK, Ireland & UAE. Partner in many EU R&D projects. Teaches building energy modelling, building services engineering. I have always found it fascinating how we all absorb and structure our understanding of the world around us and what is in it. This has drawn me to teaching because in teaching I get to see the links people make between different aspects of the physical world we live in. I find designing buildings that respond to the environment they are located in and the types of indoor environments their design creates reflects the confidence of the designer. As an academic I am always on the lookout for what's new to work out if it will work or not... My experience of chairing many Exam Boards and Thesis presentations helped me form a balanced approach to supporting students in their learning journeys.

My approach to your tutoring will be to begin with gaining an understanding of what specifically you are seeking followed by agreeing a plan of what and how we will cover the areas required. I am an experienced academic supervisor including undergraduate & postgraduate projects, dissertations and PhD supervision. Two of my students achieved national and international prizes for their final year dissertations (i.e. the Dr Owainati Student Excellence Award UAE & the CIBSE President's Prize). Lecture courses can also be provided for any related subject areas. Existing lecture series available include HVAC, Airtightness of buildings & Renewable & sustainable energy for buildings.
