About Siddhi

I am a young architect starting out in the profession. I have been a student myself not quite long ago and remember my growing pains well. I started out on a slow device and relied on self taught techniques with didn't serve me well in the long run. I still shudder at the memory of my hospital semester. The five-floored service oriented design put my design skills to a test, but more so, my software skills where I depended on common commands and on a primitive unplanned workflow.

In my fourth year, two firsties were assigned to my room. I was expecting them to be apprehensive, but instead they were delighted to have a senior as roommate. I too was thrilled to share every tip and trick with them. It was satisfying to see them avoid the pitfalls which me and my classmates got caught it. I told them ways they could save money, plan their submissions and most importantly, learn and experiment with their software early. The age of hand drafting is gone. It's bittersweet, but we have to accept the change and adapt.

Another thing about me: I talk a lot. This could quite easily turn into an essay so I better stop here.

About the lesson

AutoCAD is a vast software, every student of design gains adequate mastery over it over the course of their education and practice. If you join my class you can expect to gain valuable tips and tricks at a early stage and learn the workflow of drafting a drawing in AutoCad and modelling it in Sketchup the right way, the way which would save you valuable time and energy which you can rather channel into designing. Being a young professional, I welcome any questions which are beyond my knowledge. I promise to get back to you with a solution as soon as possible.

Face to face sessions can be discussed, but I propose that we take advantage of the power of technology and meet over meeting platforms such as zoom, google meet, or discord. It's actually a lot better when I can see your progress on my screen in real time.

As for what to expect, I have a hands on approach where you'll be working on a project right from the start. We'll start with basic settings, understanding the software workspace and then get started by drafting a drawing provided, or of your choice. We shall progress as per your desired pace and create complete presentation and working drawings along with a SketchUp model rendered in Enscape plugin.

You can also expect a high level of patience from me. I understand how annoying it is to get CAD software to obey a beginners command.

This class is intended for school students planning to study design and would like to gain an edge by learning important skills early on and for design students in their first and second year who are just starting off with the software and would like to speed up their design drafting by gaining expertise through my experience and minimize their own trial and error.
