About Florian

Experienced Tutor.
Enhanced DBS checked.

I recently graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and am currently working as an actor, while also teaching whenever I have some down-time. In addition to my LAMDA training I have a Yale undergrad degree in Philosophy, Psychology and Economics.

I was born in Berlin, graduated from an international high school there and during my bachelor's also completed two semester-long exchanges at the Sorbonne University (Paris IV) and Sciences Po in Paris, as well as a one-year acting program at Cours Florent in Paris. I am bilingual German/English and used to be on a path to becoming a competitive football player, winning a state championship, and travelling with my state’s all-star team around the world. However, I eventually segued into acting and am very happy today that I did

About the lesson

Acting classes and applying to drama school can be daunting. Whether it is finding plays, picking monologues, choosing schools or rehearsing speeches, I am here to help.

To make the most of our time, we start with where you at and what you need right now. Do you need help deciding on a school? A monologue? Want to know what drama school is like? Need help working on a chosen texts? From there we build a plan so that you can get closer to your ultimate goal step-by-step.

This can include help researching plays, talking about what makes a good audition speech (and/or what makes a speech a good choice for you), monologue coaching, providing warm-up exercises and talking about your strengths as well as areas you might need to work on.

I highly recommend Florian as a tutor. He quickly adapts didactically and personally to different requirements, learning habits and needs. Through his degrees and study visits in Germany, Singapore, France, the USA and Great Britain, he is highly qualified, cosmopolitan and familiar with various education systems. Last but not least: Florian is lively and humorous, which keeps you engaged even in difficult phases.

I've known Florian for a number of years, and believe him to be not only a skilled, patient, empathetic and diligent teacher, but a brilliant intellectual and polymath. Florian's experiences have taken him through elite education (at Yale-NUS in Singapore and LAMDA in London), across disparate subject areas (global philosophy, the social sciences, the dramatic arts, and foreign language learning), across the world (South-East Asia, Europe, and North America). The way he thinks, and the vast breadth of subject matter he can speak eloquently about, is testament of this fact.

He is a truly unique individual and I've been very grateful for the opportunities I've had to work with him in the past.
