I am self-taught in Pitman Shorthand and can teach you to read and write it! It is great for taking fast notes and for journaling in a way that no one else can read it.
This type of shorthand can be confusing because it takes a lot of repitition and memorization, and is based on phonics not letters, but the end result is VERY rewarding. I do not recommend it to anyone younger than High School aged.
Pitman shorthand is a method of abbreviated writing that increases speed as compared to longhand. Developed by Sir Isaac Pitman in 1837, It is a phonetic system, the symbols represent sounds not letters.
