About Jovanka
I am a recent graduate from the BA History/Medieval Studies program at Wilfrid Laurier University. On top of my recent studies, I have years of experience in education, customer support, and teaching. I have been a private tutor for students from grades 6-12 for the last three years, helping them with a variety of topics in the arts (history, english, social studies, careers/civics) and beyond. I was a teaching assistant at Wilfrid Laurier University, as well have held positions in the tech field for both the public and private sectors. As an experienced educator, I can guarantee quality results and improvement for students.

I am a firm believer that the days of 'the old way' of teaching students are long gone. Students in our rapidly developing world cannot succeed academically in a traditional classroom setting. I can speak from my own experience as what it was like growing up as a student with ADHD in a classroom were staring at a chalkboard for hours at a time and retaining information was the norm. My teaching methodology is one that can best be described as 'interactive active-learning based education'. By being able to create fun, exciting, and memorable ways for students to interact with the information they're expected to retain, there is a higher chance for success. There are various ways one can learn, and I have found that by giving students the opportunity to use technology such as apps and web platforms as a way to help them learn, you are more likely to be successful academically.
