About Ryan

I am an accountant by trade, having completed my studies at Wits. My passion lies elsewhere though and I have spent time exploring different career paths over the past few years. I have taught mathematics in a local high school and this was an enjoyable experience as I love to help other people grow and reach their full potential. I am also a very logical, analytical and strategic thinker which is why chess is a passion of mine. I have decided to merge my love for teaching and passion for chess in the hope that it brings me fulfillment.

About the lesson

I mainly focus on beginners and intermediate players, anyone who isn't in the top 10% of chess players.
My teaching methods include game analysis, tactical training, opening and end game studies among other methods which depend on the level of the student. I have a very calm and patient personality.

Henna

Has a great teaching approach, get's your point of view and then directs you towards what you need to do. This way you actually learn how to think for yourself instead of just copying moves. Would 100% recommend him.
