About Lyric

I am a professional artist, producer, and educator with a career spanning songwriting, performance, production, and creative direction across multiple genres. I have college and university teaching experience where I work with students at the university level to develop their creative voice, technical skills, and artistic confidence. As an artist, my work has been featured in national and international sync placements, including projects with BET, Nickelodeon, and Sesame Street on PBS. I have performed on major stages including Coachella and have toured and collaborated with a range of respected artists across hip-hop, soul, and electronic music. My work has led to artist endorsements and partnerships with leading music technology brands including Roland, Serato, Melbourne Instruments, and Warm Audio. These experiences keep my teaching current, practical, and connected to the realities of today’s creative industry. Creatively, my background spans hip-hop, house, soul, gospel, and electronic music, with a deep respect for Black music traditions and rhythmic foundations. I bring this genre range into my teaching, helping students understand not just technique, but context, feel, and intention. In addition to my academic and artist work, I am the founder of Tempo Soul Records, a developing label focused on artistic integrity, rhythm, and long-term creative growth. While the label is still evolving, it informs my approach to mentoring artists with an emphasis on sustainability, identity, and clarity. I approach teaching with professionalism, preparation, and respect for each student’s individual path. Lessons are structured yet flexible, supportive yet honest, and always tailored to the student’s goals. Whether you are building foundational skills or refining your artistry at a professional level, my goal is to help you grow with confidence, discipline, and creative purpose.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is rooted in creative intention, artistic identity, and practical application. As a university teaching artist and founder of Tempo Soul Records, I work with artists who want to deepen their craft while developing a clear creative direction. Lessons are customized to the individual and may include songwriting, vocal coaching, production fundamentals, and artist development. Each session is designed to support both skill-building and self-trust through focused exercises, project-based work, and thoughtful feedback. What distinguishes my teaching is the integration of academic insight with lived industry experience. My work through Tempo Soul Records is grounded in Black music traditions while emphasizing rhythm, tempo, and authenticity as creative foundations. I bring this same philosophy into my teaching, helping artists build sustainable practices and confident artistic identities. These lessons are ideal for emerging and independent artists, university-level students, and adult learners seeking intentional growth, creative clarity, and long-term artistic development. DJ lessons are available as well
