About Shahmir
I'm a Transaction Advisory and Financial Due Diligence professional with over 7 years of hands-on experience, currently working as a Senior Financial Consultant at Crowe UAE. I hold the ACCA qualification, and I know this material because I use it every day, not just from a textbook, but through real deals, real financial models, and real reports read by investors and lenders.
My path took me through equity research, credit risk analysis, and now financial due diligence and valuation, giving me a genuinely well-rounded, practical understanding of finance, from how companies are valued to how deals are actually structured and assessed. That's the experience I bring into every tutoring session.
As a teacher, my focus is on making sure you genuinely understand the material, not just memorise it. Whether you're preparing for ACCA or CFA exams, working through a university finance or accounting module, or trying to build practical modelling and valuation skills, I break things down step by step, at your pace, until they make sense to you.

I teach Financial Due Diligence, Valuation, Financial Modelling, M&A, and Credit and Risk Analysis, along with ACCA and CFA exam preparation. I like to start by understanding exactly where you are, what you already know, and what you're working toward, whether that's passing a specific exam paper, understanding a university module, or building practical skills for a finance career, and then build a plan around that.
My approach is practical rather than purely theoretical. Wherever possible, I bring in real examples from actual financial models, valuations, and due diligence reports I've worked on, so concepts like DCF valuation, EBITDA normalisation, or working capital adjustments aren't just formulas, they're things you can see applied the way they're used in real transactions. I find this makes the material stick far better than textbook explanations alone.
Sessions are structured but flexible. We'll usually work through a concept step by step, test your understanding with practice questions or examples, and go back over anything that isn't fully clear before moving on. I'm patient with questions, and I'd rather spend extra time making sure you genuinely understand something than rush ahead and leave gaps.
