About Shreya

My name is Shreya, and I’m a passionate and dedicated piano tutor currently working towards a Grade 8 ABRSM qualification.

Having recently completed the early grades myself, I have a strong understanding of what it takes to progress through Grades 1 to 4, both technically and musically. I know where students often struggle and how to explain things clearly and patiently, in a way that builds confidence and enjoyment. I offer lessons that are friendly, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs—whether you're preparing for an exam or just starting your musical journey.

I’m especially experienced in working with younger students and early learners, and I take pride in creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of their progress. Whether you're a parent looking for a first piano teacher for your child, or a beginner wanting to build strong foundations, you can trust that I’ll bring professionalism, care, and enthusiasm to every lesson.

About the lesson

Having recently progressed through the grades myself, I am very familiar with what exactly is needed to be able to pass them confidently.

I have been playing the piano and the guitar for many years, and so have a strong understanding of the technical and musical skills required to succeed in early grades.

I understand that each student is different, and so will tailor each lesson to the needs of each individual with patience to ensure that they are able to progress in their skills. I have experience mentoring and supporting younger learners, and I bring patience, enthusiasm, and clear communication to every lesson. Although I am early in my formal teaching journey, I’m deeply familiar with the structure and requirements of Grades 1–3, and am keen to share my knowledge and my passion for the instrument. I am happy to provide lessons from 30 mins to 1 hr depending on the needs of each student.

Perfect! Perfect! Shreya was an excellent tutor that knew how to evaluate strengths and weaknesses right from the start.
