About Jonathan

I love giving back to the community to provide smiles on children's and young adults' faces.

At the beginning of any lesson, I like to start with an icebreaker to see how the students are every day. This would let them know that I care for their well-being and not just be here for their lesson. I believe this positivity helps both of us focus on the good, making the session more productive.

I love seeing students express their auditory, kinesthetic, or visual ways of learning. I believe that can improve their confidence in the subject they need help on.

It does take time to review and improve their skills. Throughout the years at the YMCA and college, these children and young adults have different skill levels that need special consideration. I hope to find the skillset and mindset of these students and put it to good use to improve their topic.

I started teaching because I would like to allow the students to have the resources and help they need. I remember that my parents have given me that, and now it is time to give back to the community.

I have worked as an instructor for 3 years at the YMCA teaching enrichment and sports classes. I also have my license in TESOL.

About the lesson

I begin by talking to the parents and students about how I can help support the student as much as possible. Then I review the syllabus on how and what my tutoring service provides and the terms and conditions.

I have worked with many age groups and students with disabilities (autism, PTSD, etc).

Even though teachers are committed to teaching, they should also have the time to care about the student's well-being. Teachers should interact and have fun with the students in a professional way. Lessons should be encouraging and creative.
