About Amber

I love learning and I love helping others learn, and this is what has driven me to my day job of working in Learning and Development. I have a personal interest in adult learning theories and in helping people learn as a result than that.

Having been a Psychology student for 6 years, I can fully appreciate how demanding it is as a course, both at A Level and Undergraduate level, and I also appreciate how stressful it can feel during exam seasons. As your tutor, I will be there to support you in the topics you want to focus on, and help facilitate your learning in an efficient, non-directive way.

Education:
At university, I achieved a 1st class honours in Psychology with an integrated placement year where I worked as an Assistant Psychologist in a brain injury rehabilitation hospital. I achieved a first class grading in my dissertation, which looked at vicarious fear learning in children. I achieved an A* in my Psychology A Level, and alongside this I completed a Psychology-focused EPQ; A critical analysis on the determinants of abusive relationship behaviour.

Experience:
During secondary school, I tutored students in Biology and during University I volunteered as a professional placement coach where I helped a variety of individuals to secure Psychology placements at university. For the past 2.5 years, I have worked in Learning and Development departments where I consistently facilitate employees professional development within the business.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is extremely flexible based on your requirements. My belief is that these are your sessions, and together we will navigate through the subjects and topics that you want to focus on.

What can I tutor you in? Psychology up to and including undergraduate level:
- Content
- Revision techniques
- Essay writing
- Critical analysis

Typical session length: 1-2 hours, based on your preferences.

Availability: Weekdays after 17:30 and weekends.
