The Eligibility requirements for becoming an ICAN student include having a minimum qualifying university or polytechnic degree or their equivalent and passing the ICAN qualifying professional exams after which they become eligible for membership candidacy.
Induction to become a member of the institute requires inductees to have at least three years (36 months) of work experience if they have an accounting degree while inductees with any non-accounting degrees (like Economics, Banking & Finance etc.), should have at least four years (48 months) of work experience amongst other terms and conditions.
