Do you have a passion? Do you have expert knowledge in a particular subject? Or have you worked or studied within a certain area and ready to share your skills with others?

You can register in less than 10 minutes and create the perfect advert for free.Online or face to face, Superprof has all your tutoring needs covered!
What Qualities Make a Good Private Tutor?
There is no one size fits all when it comes to tutoring.
When we think of teachers, we often think of people who are dedicated, passionate and creative. They are also good at explaining things clearly and adapting there knowledge to meet individual needs but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring your own flair and experiences to each lesson.
Please keep in mind that your teaching methods and style may not suit everyone but there will be plenty of students happy to take your classes.
Where to Hold Tutoring Classes
Lessons can be held at you home, at the students home or even in a quiet space (a library or cafe, for example).
You can mark these options on your Superprof ad but it’s always better to confirm this with your students. What works for one may not work for another and its better to be as flexible as possible.
Wherever you chose to teach your students, make sure it’s quiet and there are no distractions. You want to be able to get the most from your students in the time you have.
Online Tutorials
If face to face lessons don’t fit in with your schedule or there is no practical space to teach, you could also consider online lessons.
Online lessons mean you can teach from anywhere, at a time that suits you; saving time and travel costs.
Online lessons also provides the added bonus of more potential students. You could be teaching someone English to someone in Spain one day and providing exam prep to someone in London the next.
How Much Should I Charge?
Your rates are an important part of being a tutor.
Experience and qualifications should, ideally, be reflected in the price but the ‘market’ rate should also be considered. It is always worth searching for other tutors who are teaching similar subjects in your area or online to help you set the perfect rates.
Students will also search for competitive rates as well as expertise. Don’t forget to consider reduced rates for multiple classes!
