Easy Recipes For Beginners

To get started with learning how to bake, you’ll need to keep things simple. Practice by trying out easy and delicious recipes to encourage you to learn more. If you start with difficult recipes, you might get discouraged and halt your learning process. However, you won’t even become an expert without putting in the right amount of effort.

Here are some recipes to try out as a beginner.

Vanilla Pound Cake

This is one of my favourite types of cake. It is a simple cake that is both easy to make and doesn’t take very long. All you have to do is have the right measurements, mix all the ingredients and bake at the right temperature.

To make this ingredient, you will need:

Ingredients:

  • 250g Plain flour
  • 220g Butter
  • 200g Sugar
  • 60ml Milk
  • 5 Medium Eggs
  • 1/2 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 3/4 tbsp Vanilla Extract

Preheat the oven to 350ºF/180ºC and grease your pan with some butter and dust it with some flour. Mix your flour and baking powder, then mix your butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Finally, add the flour into the mixed butter and also add your milk before putting the mixed batter into the pan and straight to the oven for 45- 50 minutes.

Insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean after 45- 50 minutes, bring out of the oven, leave it to cool and your cake is ready to be eaten.

Banana Muffins

To bake your blueberry muffins, you’ll need muffins or cupcake pans. You can add things for other flavours like chocolate, raspberries, almonds, cashews or raisins. The important thing is to get the dough right. This is another easy recipe for beginner bakers.

Ingredients:

  • 120 grams of sugar.
  • 125 grams of butter.
  • 2 eggs.
  • 200ml of skimmed milk.
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • Butter for the moulds.

Preheat your oven to 200ºC and start by melting the butter. Mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Mix the eggs and milk, add them to the flour mixture and then add it all to the melted butter. After this process, then add your mashed banans into the batter and mix them all.

Finally, put the mixture into the muffin moulds or cupcake pans and bake for 20 minutes at 200ºC. Insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean, it is ready.

Chocolate Mousse

A chocolate mousse is a great way to get started with baking. You need to pay particular attention to each of the steps to get it right, though. Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • 3 eggs.
  • 100 grams of dark chocolate or milk chocolate.
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar.

Start by separating the egg whites from the yolks while melting the chocolate. Then mix the egg yolks and sugar into the chocolate off the heat. Beat the egg whites and then delicately add them to the chocolate mix. Pour the mix into glasses and leave in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Voila! You can decide to add toppings like strawberries, nuts, bananas, chocolate chips or whatever matches your taste bud.

There are basic baking tools every aspiring baker should have in their kitchen. These tools and equipment will go a long way in helping you. There are many useful baking utensils but some can be difficult for beginners to use. Here are some of the most useful tools for any aspiring baker.

  • Passion: if you don’t love what you’re doing, you’ll never become any good at it. Your passion will lead to increased knowledge, growth and business success for those who are in the business of baking.
  • Practise: If you are passionate about baking, we can assure you that practising will not be a big deal. You should practise daily if you want to become a pastry chef. Baking involves a lot of versatile ingredients. The ingredient you use is dependent on the type of recipe you are making. However, there are some essential must-have ingredients for bakers. This is the most important ingredient for many bakers. You’ll find it in most recipes including cakes and muffins. Many bakers also use a spray as it saves time when greasing a pan or cake tin. They can also help when removing your food from the tin.
