Today's world has become very innovative, and as an ambitious person, you have to key into these innovations. Sadly, as creative as the world is, some locations are still not at the right level of designs. A perfect continental example is the remote locations in Africa. Many factors hinder these remote locations from becoming innovative.

One primary reason for this delay is the lack of access to growth resources. For some reason, some nations in Africa do not have access to basic amenities such as light. In the long run, these amenities are necessities to growing an innovative society. Another significant barrier is the language constraint.

Language Differences in Nigeria and Around the World

Different countries all over the world have the respective languages that they speak. You were born into a particular type of tribe, and that tribe will have its language. Now, these languages are imperative to each tribe as a reminder of their culture. But the same language acts as a barrier when it is time to collaborate and communicate.

For example, there are several tribes within Nigeria, and each one of these tribes has its respective languages. But it is daunting for each tribe to communicate with each other without a translator.

The language barrier is not just a Nigerian problem; it is a global issue. Each country has its respective languages, which separate them from others. However, Nigeria, and the world, at large, have all come together to accept one language as a common communication ground, the English language. Surprisingly, the English language has four different origins; Australian, British, American, and Canadian. Luckily, each one of these origins still relies on very similar English foundations.

An American can easily communicate with a Canadian in American English, and they will understand themselves. Now, these countries have been speaking English as their native language from birth. For people living in other countries, English isn't their native language, which may limit their activities in the contemporary world.

If you come from a non-English speaking nation, you'll need a translator. Likewise, if you grew up in a society with only your mother tongue, you'll also need a translator.

When you speak your mother tongue very frequently, it may be hard to translate into the English language. Even if it's a single word or sentence, it's a great challenge to translate to English when you understand the language. That's because you don't even speak the language.

Similarly, the same thing will happen when you're trying to translate from the English language to your mother tongue. It'll still be hard for you to translate because of your poor background in the English language. However, when you want to take exams like IELTS, Cambridge ESOL, and TOEFL, you need to understand English.

The Benefits of Using Online Translators to Learn English

Trying to learn the English language on your own may be a little challenging. What's best for you is to get a translator or enrol in an English class. Luckily, the world of innovation already takes care of these provisions.

There are several online English classes and different websites to find an online English tutor in Nigeria. Likewise, online translators can help you translate from your language to the English language and vice versa. Several benefits come from using online translators, some of which are:

Simplicity: Most online translators are very simple to use.

Multilingual: In most cases, online translators help translate into different languages.

Time-efficient: When you use online translators, you save yourself the time you'll waste trying to translate yourself.

Cost-effective: Most of the online translators offer you free services, and when they charge, the costs are meagre.

There are several types of online translators, with each having its advantages and disadvantages. However, each one of these online translators has unique functions. Here are some examples of the English translator application that can help you translate easily.

Linguee

If you're in a situation where you need to translate one word or a short phrase, then Linguee should be your go-to translator. Students all over the globe are regular users of this online translator. This translator launched about 14 years ago, and since then, the number of languages has been on the rise.

The reason for the widespread acceptance of this online translator is the ease of usage. Linguee is a fantastic translator that does all the hard work for you. The app has a search engine that combs through the internet to provide you with sentence pairs and translating texts.

This application's function is to find on the internet different words and expressions related to your search. After that, it then gives you various choices of translations depending on your context.

Another advantage of the Linguee translator is its accuracy. When you use this app, all you need to do is input your word or phrase and receive options. In most cases, the first answers are the most accurate.

The only disadvantage of the Linguee application is that it works well only with short phrases and words. Therefore, you can't translate long texts on this application.

Systran

When you're searching for an online translator, one factor you should consider is the translator's accuracy. When you speak of translating accuracy, an application that should come to your mind is Systran. This Systran translator translates into fifteen different languages, one of which is the English language. The Systran online translator may be an excellent translator based on its accuracy, but that's not all there is to it.

It comes with a dictionary filled with words relating to business and computer science. As a result, you can use this translator as a makeshift dictionary. Also, you have the opportunity to add up your words to the Systran dictionary. For example, a word like Superprof may not be in the dictionary, so you have a tool that lets you add your words.

The app even has functions that help you look up the World Wide Web for the meaning of other words in the dictionary. As if that's not enough, the Systran translator can also help you translate all the words on a website to your preferred language.

The only disadvantage of the Systran system is that it hardly translates expressions or phrases in context, and that's because it's a computerized translator.

Bing Translator

If you're tech-savvy, anytime you see or hear the word "Bing", you'll think of Microsoft. Of course, if you're already thinking of Microsoft when you see Bing translator, you're not wrong. Microsoft produced the Bing translator some 12 years ago. But since then, this translator now has lovely features.

This online translator works perfectly for words with one vocabulary and short phrases. But the moment you begin to introduce sentences longer than twelve words, the translator may struggle. One exciting feature of this translator is its excellent voice detection. When you want to translate a word with the Bing translator, you don't necessarily have to type. All you need is to speak and wait for the application to translate.

You can also translate a web page on the Bing translator, but you may not get accurate results. The Bing translator comes with a feature that automatically allows the app to detect the word that needs translation. The major disadvantage of this translator is the low-phrase constraint and its computerized translation.

Google Translator

If you've used any translator on the internet, there's a high chance that the translator is Google translate. In terms of age, Google Translator is the oldest translator possible. In terms of size, the Google translator is the most prominent. Google translator doesn't just hold these awards for nothing; it has incredible features. This is the best of online translators in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.

Another factor contributing to the success of this application is simplicity. All you need to do is to log on to the website and start translating. You have two separate boxes on the website. The box on the left side is where you put the word you want to translate, while the box on the right is where you see the translated version of the word.

For example, let's assume you type in "what is your name" in the left box, and you want that translation in the Yoruba language. The translated version will be "kini oruko e", and you'll see this translation in the box on the right. You can get the Google translator on any device, whether Android or iPhone.

One other advantage is you don't have to pay a dime to use this Google translator. The translation of Google translator is automatic, so you don't get human-like translations. As a result, translating longer sentences may not give the expected results.

Using an online translator reduces the stress and time you have to forfeit when learning a new language. However, learning a language like the English language may take more than just translating. That doesn't mean you have to go out in search of English language lessons. You can learn the English language excellently right from the comfort of your home.

There are several online English classes with some of the best online English teachers in Nigeria. If you're in search of a trustworthy English tutor in Nigeria, you can register with Superprof. Superprof offers online English learning lessons for different proficiency levels. It also has a network of excellent English tutors who offer a one-hour free lesson on the first lesson to help you access their teaching skills and determine the perfect fit for you.
