Fashion design and sewing is a popular craft and business in Nigeria. This one major reason you might see a tailors shop in every area. If you are looking for where to sew your next Aso Ebi material, you might turn to your local sewing shop near you. While you at that, you will be surprised that they may be offering sewing tutorials.

If they are offering sewing tutorials, they might also be offering lessons in pattern making. Many tailors in Nigeria are gradually becoming conversant with pattern making especially pattern drafting.

One of the best parts of taking a pattern making lesson from your local sewing shop near you is that they will have most of the tools you will need to learn because it is what they do on a day to day basis. Since it's a regular thing for them, you will probably be at an advantage because you will also get to see the beginning to the end of a garment. From drafting customers pattern to cutting the fabrics and sewing them. This will boost your confidence and give you more experience outside what you are being taught by them. Tools that you will need for your patten making lessons that may be already available in your local shop are :
