As a child growing up I loved learning by having fun. I have taught children fire safety, math, and English and guitar and enjoyed making them laugh while they learned. Participating by listening, speaking and writing helps the kids to combine their existing knowledge with new material. Visual aids and conversation help to strengthen the process of learning while having loads of fun.
I have given lessons on and off over the course of 30 years. Helping my daughter with homeschooling to substituting in many different areas has given me the experience to work with children. I enjoy teaching one on one the most but working with a group can be rewarding and make learning easier for each student as they interact. Using child-centered (person centered) education is something I fully believe in. It not only helps the child to learn, but it is instrumental in contributing to their growth and development. Interaction is key. I believe that each child (person) is unique and therefore an individual. Inviting a child to participate in their own learning process can be extremely self-rewarding thereby encouraging the child.

Initially I was part of a start up team with this dynamic poker information site. My job description was varied and ranged from data input to marketing to writing articles. I was also in charge of selling advertising for the site. I moved into a position of being responsible for contact with poker room managers and developing sales relationships with hundreds of worldwide casinos and their poker rooms. The last two years I was with PokerPages.com I traveled extensively reporting on major live poker events, continuing to develop strong relationships with marketing, management and poker room directors. This particular aspect of this position required the complete ability and willingness to be a self starter, prepare goals and reach them, and complete all jobs regardless of the length of time it required, or of how I was feeling. I left the job due to the fact that I had been on the road for a very long time and had a family emergency. I am eligible for rehire.
