About Megan

I am a biology and psychology graduate and future teacher who has been tutoring science for 7 years. I also volunteer my time in high school science classes helping students review concepts, prepare for tests and exams, stay organized, and on top of school work, and help teachers execute lessons. Students enjoy working with me and show positive growth throughout our sessions. I am in my final year of teacher education and eager to help students learn and succeed.

I approach science with an open mind and moderate structure. It is important to understand every student has preferences and I aim to work with those preferences (ie. more focus on hands on) to achieve the best result. I prefer to tailor each tutoring session to how the student would like it to be including delivery method, comfort level, and how long they wish for the session to be. Maximizing on the optimal conditions that students learn can provide the best results. A brief 1 hour lesson would go as follows: an overview of what I would like to cover, options for readings/videos, lesson will begin with either of the previous choices and discussion to follow, practice questions/case studies will be done, and finally an outstanding questions or areas of concern will be addressed.
