BA in English
Graduate student in English Literature
3 years experience teaching and tutoring ESL students of all ages.
I work with students of all levels, from elementary school children to working professionals. As a teacher, I have experience tailoring my approach according to my student's abilities. As a student, I work primarily with academic English.
I have been tutoring college students in English for 3 years. In addition, I taught professionally with AmeriCorps for one year, teaching English, as well as a variety of other subjects, to elementary school children. I've worked one-on-one with approximately 20 students, who successfully improved their vocabulary, oral and listening comprehension, pronunciation, and writing skills -- and consequently, their grades. I've helped my students prepare class presentations in English, edit and revise their papers, and gain a better understanding of their assigned readings.
