BA in English
Graduate student in English Literature
3 years experience teaching and tutoring ESL students of all ages.
I work with students of all levels, from elementary school children to working professionals. As a teacher, I have experience tailoring my approach according to my student's abilities. As a student, I work primarily with academic English.
I have been tutoring college students in English for 3 years. In addition, I taught professionally with AmeriCorps for one year, teaching English, as well as a variety of other subjects, to elementary school children. I've worked one-on-one with approximately 20 students, who successfully improved their vocabulary, oral and listening comprehension, pronunciation, and writing skills -- and consequently, their grades. I've helped my students prepare class presentations in English, edit and revise their papers, and gain a better understanding of their assigned readings.
High-performance English graduate eager to apply strong skills in verbal and written communication, editing, proofreading, and research. Proven track record of successful writing, editing, research, tutoring, and teaching. Extensive experience and training in cross-cultural communication. Versatile volunteer and community experience. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and people skills. Innovative, creative, and meticulous approach.
