About Chandran

I hold a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics and a PG degree in Bank Management from NIBM, Pune, India. I have in all 39 plus years of experience as a banker and consultant to banks globally. I am an innovative result-proven professional with significant experience, advising banks in areas of retail and corporate banking in general and Risk Management in particular. I have expertise in configuring business architecture and risk management solutions for banks globally in the context of emerging and evolving regulatory environment. I was a trainer in the Bank's (Bank of India - where I worked) Training center and I was a Trainers' trainer in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) where I served in the second half of my job trajectory. I was a visiting faculty in leading management institutes. I trained over 850 Business Analysts when I was heading the Global Risk Practice in TCS. My areas of specialization also include Portfolio Management, Market, Credit and Operational Risk Management, Micro and Macro Economics, all aspects of Banking, Statistical Methods, Econometrics, forecasting, Balanced Scorecard, Activity Based Costing, General Finance Management and Artificial Intelligence methodologies.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Crisply, let me tell about my background. I did my M.Sc (Ag) in Agricultural Economics. Then I did my PGDBM at NIBM. I hold CAIIB certification. I did a course in NIIT in computer engineering in banking. I am basically a specialist in Banking, Bad Debt Management and Risk management in Banking. While in TCS, I was consultant to International Banks. My area of specialization includes Micro and Macroeconomics, Statistics, Business Analysis, Management Science, Costing, Strategy formulation, System Engineering and Organizational Structure and Artificial Intelligence.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
I had been a trainer in bank of India and TCS for 7 years. I was a visiting faculty in IIM, NIBM and Staff Training College Hyderabad.
How does your work help society?
I work with people to upgrade their knowledge on environment and the ecosystem stability.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
Dr. M.S. Swaminathan and Dr. Varghese Kurian.
